Malaysia Suspending KL-LAX Route

Malaysia Airlines will be suspending its flights into Los Angeles following a route rationalization exercise to stem losses. The route rationalization exercise takes effect on April 30, 2014. Copa adds Montreal to network

Copa Airlines, a member of Star Alliance, will begin nonstop service four times a week from Montreal to Panama on June 3. Montreal will be Copas second destination in Canada and number 67 out of 69 total destinations Copa will serve by the end of July. The airline will operate a Boeing 737-700 Next Generation aircraft with 12 business class seats and 112 economy seats on the flights to Panama. rouge expands its Caribbean summer offerings

Air Canada reports that its leisure carrier subsidiary, Air Canada rouge, is expanding its choice of more Caribbean destinations this summer. Routes previously operated by Air Canada from Toronto and Montreal to Cuba, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Barbados, Haiti, Cancun and Tampa, Fla., will be converted beginning this spring to Air Canada rouge service. WestJet, Sabre get deal done

WestJet and Sabre have stepped back from the brink. The two companies announced that they “have reached the basis of an agreement” that will allow Sabre-connected agents to continue to have access to WestJet fare content in the Sabre travel marketplace. JetBlue, Etihad team up

JetBlue Airways and Etihad Airways have announced plans to begin codeshare operations. The agreement, which is subject to government approval, will see Etihad Airways place its “EY” code on JetBlue-operated flights, initially facilitating connections between the two airlines at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington’s Dulles International Airport. In the first stage of the partnership, Etihad will codeshare on 40 JetBlue routes within the US. EVA Air increases Toronto, Vancouver service

Starting in June, EVA Air will increase North American service from 45 flights per week to 55, boosting frequency to Toronto and Montreal, as well as Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. By adding 22% more flights, EVA, a Star Alliance member, will also expand capacity, offer passengers greater convenience and provide more flights between North America and Taiwan than any other airline.
