Porter Airlines and Alaska Airlines have announced a broad partnership, taking advantage of Porter’s strong presence across Eastern Canada and Alaska’s well-established U.S. West Coast links to provide passengers more flight options and better service from coast to coast. Porter increases capacity on three Halifax routes
Responding to strong demand on Canada’s East Coast, Porter Airlines is increasing capacity on three Halifax routes. Beginning Mar. 31, service between St. John’s, Montréal and Ottawa will be operated on the Embraer E195-E2. The Halifax-Ottawa route will have three daily, roundtrip flights. Amex GBT’s 2024 Air Monitor finds prices will stabilize on key routes
In its Air Monitor 2024, American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) reports that airfares look set to stabilize across key routes around the world; but noting that it expects marginal price rises, and some falls, on regional and international business travel routes. IATA posts positive 2024 projections
IATA is projecting strengthened profitability for airlines in 2023, which will then largely stabilize in 2024. However, it says that net profitability at the global level is expected to be well below the cost of capital in both years. Very significant regional variations in financial performance remain.
