Icelandair and Turkish Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement offering passengers seamless connections between their growing networks.
Icelandair customers will now be able to connect eastbound to destinations in the Middle East and Asia via Istanbul (IST) while Turkish Airlines passengers can connect westbound to North America and Canada through Keflavik, Iceland (KEF).

IATA and ATPCO have announced a partnership that will see ATPCO use IATA’s CO2 Connect data in its Routehappy API offering later this year.
Routehappy is an API that helps airlines and sales channels to convey expected “Amenities” of the onboard experience, including seat pitch and type, Wi-Fi, power, entertainment, and more, to consumers at the time of booking.
ATPCO plans to create a new Amenity that will use IATA CO2 Connect data to help shoppers understand the carbon cost of various itinerary options.

IATA has released its results for April 2023 and passenger traffic demand continues to be strong.
Results indicated that:
Total traffic in April 2023 (measured in revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) rose 45.8% compared to April 2022. Globally, traffic is now at 90.5% of pre-COVID levels. At 81.3%, industry load factor was only 1.8 percentage points below pre-pandemic level.
Domestic traffic for April rose 42.6% compared to the year-ago period and has now fully recovered, posting a 2.9% increase over the April 2019 results.

As IATA prepares for its 79th AGM in Istanbul, Peter Cerdá, Regional Vice-President, the Americas, International Air Transport Association (IATA), talked to Canadian Travel Press about challenges, opportunities, sustainability, NDC and a whole lot more.
