The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is gearing up to celebrate the 10th anniversary of cruise3sixty in 2014 and preparations are just sailing along. Already close to 700 agents have registered for the anniversary conference and trade show which will take place from April 2 to April 6, 2014 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Crystal Cruises reports that Gregg Michel has resigned as president, effective October 15, and cruise industry veteran Edie Bornstein will join the Los Angeles-based line as its new president and chief operating officer on October 16. HAL TO ACQUIRE MCKINLEY CHALETS HOTEL
Holland America Line (HAL), through its subsidiary Holland America - Princess Alaska, has reached an agreement in principle to acquire the McKinley Chalets Hotel in Denali National Park from Aramark Sports and Entertainment Services. HAL will develop the property further for inclusion on its Land+Sea Journeys that combine an Alaska cruise with an overland tour to Denali National Park. Silversea Cruises has unveiled its 2015 cruise program which features 276 sailings to over 700 destinations (including 71 brand new destinations) aboard its eight ships.
