Costa Concordia defueling operations nearly complete
Costa Crociere, the municipality of Giglio Island and the Costa Concordia Emergency Commissioner's Office have announced that the operations to remove the fuel from Costa Concordia have successfully been completed. Defueling operations, which were carried out by experts from the Neri/Smit Salvage team hired by Costa Crociere, began Feb. 12 and continued around the clock whenever sea and weather conditions were favourable. Port Everglades begins $54-million terminal renovation
Florida's Port Everglades is embarking on a $54-million renovation project to transform four existing cruise terminals into modern passenger facilities for more than 30 different Carnival Corporation cruise ships, as well as cruise ships from other lines. Cruise Terminals 2, 19, 21 and 26 will begin by the end of April, with completion dates ranging from mid-December through early June 2013.
