Transat Adds Curaçao
Transat is expanding its already-robust sun destination portfolio with the addition of the Dutch island of Curaçao, located in the Southern Caribbean. Beginning Dec. 20, Transat will fly to Curaçao from Toronto on Sundays through to April 3, 2016 where it will offer four resorts – the Renaissance Curaçao Resort & Casino, the Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, the Hilton Curaçao and the Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino. Growing Arrivals
The latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer reports that international tourist arrivals grew by 4% in the first half of 2015. Destinations around the world welcomed some 538 million international tourists between January and June 2015, an increase of 21 million compared to the same period of 2014. Europe, Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East all recorded 5% growth in international arrivals and the Americas 4%. Air Canada On The Move
Air Canada is on the move and will serve six continents as of next summer with the addition of its first route to Africa, as well as the addition of four major European cities to its global network. Summer 2016 will see Air Canada rouge will fly from Montreal to Casablanca, Morocco. Air Canada's leisure carrier will also service routes to Budapest, Prague (pictured), Warsaw and Glasgow from Toronto Pearson. Transat Expands Europe Program
With more flights, more seats and new connecting flights, as well as two new destinations – Croatia in Eastern Europe and Pisa in Italy – Transat is expanding its European portfolio for 2016. Air Transat will offer direct flights to a total of 29 destinations, including newly launched routes between Toronto and Nice, Montreal and Glasgow and Vancouver and Rome.
