Celebrate Canadian Tourism This Week

This week, it’s time to celebrate Canadian tourism.

Tourism Week 2020 is now underway. It began yesterday (May 24) and continues to May 31 and offers the industry an opportunity to come together and remind people the kind of contribution tourism makes to the lives of each and every one of us.

That’s why for Tourism Week 2020, TIAC will be focusing on why #TourismMatters now more than ever.

And while there’s a lot of uncertainty in the world, including for the tourism sector, right now, we all know that the industry is eager to come back as soon as possible and stronger than ever.

TIAC is sharing its new Tourism Week Toolkit to help tourism businesses and their networks emphasize the vital contributions that the sector makes to Canada’s communities, employment, economy and future.

By going to TourismMatters.ca, industry members will find a downloadable Tourism Week Toolkit that includes draft social media posts, social media shareables, Tourism Week Zoom backgrounds, and more.

As well, TIAC is partnering with various members of the PTTIAs across the country for its regional virtual Tourism Town Halls.

The regional Town Halls will provide an opportunity for the industry to come together and discuss the new reality of the sector, and what the future holds.

For more, go to www.TourismMatters.ca for a list of Town Halls and how to register.

And TIAC is reminding industry members not to forget to use the hashtags #TourismWeek and #TourismMatters on social media.
