Celebrate Summer In Zagreb

Avid music fans need to put Zagreb on their radar for a summer visit. One of the greenest and most walkable cities in Europe, the city comes alive in attractiveness peaks in the summer months.

With numerous festivals and events, from contemporary music, rock ‘n’ roll, and cutting-edge electronica festivals, numerous art exhibitions, street performances, to food festivals showcasing Croatian cuisine – the summer months will surely enchant all who visit and solidify Zagreb’s place as one of the best cities in Europe.

The 2022 summer concert season kicks off with the Zagreb Classic 2022, an open-air classical music festival organized by the City of Zagreb, the Zagreb Tourist Board, and their partners. Zagreb Classic 2022 will take place in King Tomislav Square from June 23 to June 29.

It will gather various performers from all around Croatia, such as the Zagreb Philharmonic, soloists and choir of the City Comedy Theater, etc., and guest musicians from Ukraine, France, and Italy. The festival runs for seven days and starts at 9 pm; the visitors will be able to enjoy premium outdoor classical music and stargazing.

A special guest and performer at Zagreb Classic, Joyce Jonathan, a French singer & songwriter, will present songs from her latest album, “Les p’tites jolies choses,” and other notable songs that made her famous.

Martina Bienenfeld, director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, said: “This year’s Zagreb Classic Festival begins on Thursday, June 23, with a kick-off concert by Ukrainian violin soloist Anastasiye Petryshak and the Zagreb Opera Orchestra. On Wednesday, June 29, the festival will culminate with a Cameristi della Scala chamber orchestra performance – musicians from the Teatro alla Scala orchestra from Milan. These events are free, and we expect many visitors, thanks to the carefully selected domestic and international music repertoire and the amazing ambiance and atmosphere that King Tomislav Square lends to the city overall, but as a backdrop for these events. It’s my pleasure to invite and welcome you to Zagreb, which is, according to many visitors, the most beautiful and vibrant in the summer months.”
