Celebrity Edge Embarks on a 4,000-Mile Journey Home

Celebrity Edge is making its way home to Terminal 25 (T25) at Port Everglades in Hollywood, Fla.

Slated for arrival on Nov. 19, the new ship set sail from the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, on Sunday (Nov. 4) for its first transatlantic voyage.

As of the morning of Nov. 6, Celebrity Edge was 3,300 nautical miles from its destination, positioned at 37 degrees 58 minutes north latitude and 17 degrees nine minutes west longitude. On board, more than 1,400 crew members and others are at work putting the finishing touches on the ship, making sure that every detail is perfect, every surface sparkles, and every routine is mastered – before a single guest ever steps aboard.

Celebrity Edge’s inaugural season will be spent sailing alternating seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruise itineraries, with its Maiden Western Caribbean voyage departing on Dec. 9, and its Maiden Eastern Caribbean voyage departing on Dec. 16.

In spring of 2019, Edge will cross the Atlantic again to offer guests a range of seven- to 11-night Mediterranean sailings visiting such cities as Barcelona and Rome.
