Century-old locomotive at Yosemite Railroad

The sound of train whistles will once again be echoing through the Sierra National Forest just outside of Yosemite National Park as the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad gears up for their season start. The railroad, located about 7 km. from the southern park entrance, starts offering tours in mid-March, weather permitting. The Jenny railcars are Ford Model A’s modified by the rail crews in the early 1900’s to ferry personnel and materials to job sites. Steam engine tours start on March 27, and one of the locomotives in 100 years old this year. (http://www.yosemitesteamtrain.com)
