Charges Laid By TICO

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged CA Tour International Inc. with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered.

TICO has also charged Ms. Ping Chen with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered, and one (1) count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence, in this case, for operating without TICO registration.

It is alleged that Ms. Chen continued to operate CA Tour International Inc. after the company’s TICO registration was revoked on September 18, 2018. CA Tour International Inc. had its registration revoked resulting from allegations of non-compliance with the Travel Industry Act, 2002, including failing to file financial statements, maintain trust accounting and proper business records, submit payments to the industry-financed Compensation Fund and notify TICO of key changes within the company. Additionally, CA Tour International Inc. operated as a wholesaler without a wholesale registration.

Charges were laid on Thursday, October 10, 2019.

Ms. Chen will appear in court at 60 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019.
