Choose Chicago Launches French-Canadian Web Pages

In a move designed to attract French-Canadian travellers, Choose Chicago, the official destination marketing organization for Chicago, Illinois, has launched a French-Canadian Facebook page and newly translated French for Canada web pages.

The addition of these platforms form a part of Choose Chicago’s latest global campaign, “Welcome Home,” based on the insight that home is not necessarily a place, but a feeling. And, in Chicago visitors can feel at home and fit right in, no matter what their interests are.

For foodies, the city is home to the world’s most elite chefs; for art and architecture enthusiasts, Chicago’s stunning skyline says it all; for fashionistas, Chicago has an abundance of stores waiting to be explored; for urban wonderers, Chicago’s 77 neighbourhoods are not to be missed; and for music lovers, the city of jazz and blues has 225 music venues for all genres of music.

“The addition of Choose Chicago’s in-market Facebook page and French web pages will provide Canadian visitors with easy access to information on Chicago during their vacation planning process and while they are in the city,” said Choose Chicago president David Whitaker. “Through these channels, we can further connect and engage with Canadian visitors on a regular basis by providing them with updated information on Chicago and also answer directly any questions they have.”

Canada continues to be the largest international market for Chicago. In 2016, Chicago welcomed 448,000 visitors from Canada, of which an estimated 14% originated from Quebec.
