Colorado gives Toronto trade a taste of its ‘Liquid Arts’ scene

The Colorado Tourism Office has given some Toronto residents the lowdown on doing the bottoms-up routine in Colorado.

The office held a Feb.4 Toronto event in part to update some travel industry personnel on how they can easily quench their thirst during Colorado vacations, bringing along prominent Denver mixologist Nicole Lebedevitch of The Culinary Creative Group, who served gin-based gimlets during the presentation.

The tourism office’s Andrea Blankenship told those on hand that her state has restaurants that have caught the attention of Michelin and some 400 breweries, 140 wineries and 100 distilleries. “Clearly we like to eat and drink,” she said of the state’s “liquid arts” scene.

Lebedevitch was at times the centre of attention during the event, with Sana Keller, who represents the Colorado Tourism Office in this country, saying event attendees should appreciate Lebedevitch being on hand. “Be nice to her because she can pull some springs for us,” Keller said.

Lebedevitch in turn said her hometown will appeal both to epicureans and those who seek out interesting watering holes while on vacation.
Those visiting Denver can “have a little taste of everything,” she said while praising the city’s “amazing diversity” of food and drinks.
