contiki-sept14

Contiki has unveiled its new 2017-18 Europe program, highlighted by five new trips, including four Adriatic and new Greek Week itineraries.

The tour operator’s full suite of Europe 2017 trips are on sale and feature 10% discounts (savings of up to $820) for clients who book by Jan. 12, 2017.

New for the 2017 season are four immersive trips in and around the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, visiting Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania and the Greek Islands. The four new itineraries include the Adriatic Unearthed start Split, Adriatic Unearthed start Rome, Adriatic Horizons and the Adriatic Spirit.

The two Adriatic Unearthed trips are 15-day odysseys taking in the best of the region including the Amalfi Coast, Port Bari, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Ljubljana, Venice, Rome and Corfu. Both of the longer Adriatic Unearthed trips offer travellers the same experience, with the flexibility of being able to start and end a trip in either Rome or Split – those finishing up in Rome can easily hop on a plane back home, and those ending in Split are perfectly placed to soak up the sun on the Croatian coast or join in on one of Contiki’s Croatian Island sailing trips.

The shorter Adriatic Horizons and Adriatic Spirit trips span eight and seven days respectively, and make great options for travellers who are short on time. The Adriatic Horizons itinerary takes a clockwise route from Rome visiting Florence, Venice, Ljubljana, Plitvice and Split, and the Adriatic Spirit itinerary heads anti clockwise from Split taking in Dubrovnik, Tirana, Corfu, Bari, the Amalfi and finishing up in Rome.

The four new Adriatic adventures follow Contiki’s “In-Depth Explorer” pace, which means less time spent travelling and more time spent exploring destinations. Included experiences are central to the new itineraries, with the trips visiting two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Bay of Kotor and Plitvice Lakes, and exploring Venice, Florence and Rome in depth with special access walking tours and private boat rides.

Adding to the mix of immersive and authentic experiences is Contiki’s new nine-day Greek Week itinerary, visiting the top three hotspots favourited by guests including Athens, Mykanos and Ios. This new “Easy Pace” trip focuses on two of Greece’s most iconic islands, offering clients beaches, water sports and some of the best parties in the world.

In 2017, Contiki will operate more than 142 trips across Europe, visiting 42 countries.
