Costa Smeralda Passenger Tests Negative For Coronavirus

Reuters is now reporting that an Italian health ministry spokesman has confirmed that tests for coronavirus on two passengers aboard Costa Cruises’ Costa Smeralda have come back negative and they do not have the virus.

Both passengers had been held in an isolation unit on the ship while they waited for the test results to be returned.

Some 6,000 passengers aboard the ship – which was docked in Civitavecchia, north of Rome — were not allowed to disembark for safety reasons while test results were awaited.
