Costa Cruises sailing the world in 2028

Costa Cruises announced details of its new World Cruise 2028 — an epic 139-day journey across five continents and three oceans.
Costa’s World Cruise 2028 is designed for travellers who want to explore the planet at a slower, more authentic pace, the voyage features extended stays in the world’s most iconic cities, where each stop reveals a new perspective and each day becomes part of an ever-evolving story.
Departing from Savona, Italy, on Nov. 25, 2027, Costa Deliziosa will take guests on an itinerary calling at 51 destinations in 29 countries, including 21 islands. Created to inspire modern-day explorers, the journey offers a complete experience that blends major global cities, unspoiled nature, ancient cultures and some of the most fascinating remote ports on Earth.
In addition to the full 139-day itinerary from Savona, guests can also embark on an additional option: a 100-day segment departing from San Francisco, California, easily accessible to North American guests without an international flight.
This portion of the world cruise includes locales in Oceania, Asia and Africa and concludes at the end of the voyage in Savona on April 11, 2028.
Luigi Stefanelli, vice president worldwide sales for Costa Cruises, observed that: “With the 2028 World Cruise, Costa Cruises offers a truly extraordinary travel experience, designed for those who want to explore the world without haste: 139-day itinerary crossing five continents and three oceans, featuring extended stays, exclusive overland programs and iconic moments such as New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles and access to Celebration Key, the private island in the Bahamas opening for the first time to Costa guests.”
Stefanelli continued: “It is a proposal that brings together emotion, depth and quality, and reflects our ability to create distinctive, high-value journeys dedicated to world explorers and travelers who want to savor every destination in an authentic way,”
After departing the Mediterranean in late fall, the journey takes shape in North America exploring the East and West Coasts with extended stays in New York and Los Angeles — culminating in a spectacular New Year’s Eve on the Californian coast.
Additionally, in the United States, the ship will visit Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as well as San Diego, California. Guests can embark in San Francisco Jan. 3, 2028, for the 100-day segment.
Among the major highlights of the 2028 edition is a visit to Celebration Key, the new private island in the Bahamas available to Costa guests for the first time. The tropical gem where powdery sand meets a sea that fades into infinite shades of turquoise is framed by exclusive beach clubs, crystal-clear waters and corners of unspoiled nature.
