Central America’s tourism industry will gather in Costa Rica’s capital city of San Jose for EXPOTUR, which takes place from May 14 to May16, 2014. Now in its 30th year, EXPOTUR attracts more than 300 tourism and hospitality businesses from throughout Central America. The event provides international participants and buyers with an opportunity to explore tourism products and services ranging from hotels and airlines to tour operators and major attractions. EXPOTUR’s main activities and seminars will take place at the Wyndham Herradura Hotel and Convention Center.
Ireth Rodriguez, director of marketing for the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT), said: “It is an honour to open our doors to visitors from around the world and showcase the best travel and tourism offerings that our country has to offer.”
Rodriguez continued: “The number of industry influencers attending EXPOTUR has grown each year and we are excited to welcome new guests as we learn and share the industry developments and trends that are impacting the global tourism marketplace.”
EXPOTUR is organized by the Costa Rican Association of Professionals in Tourism (ACOPROT) and sponsored by the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT).
Throughout the two-day event the opportunities for networking and business development are infinite including seminars and exhibitions that focus on a variety of niche markets including sustainable tourism, adventure, weddings and honeymoons, wellness tourism, meetings, incentives and conventions, corporate travel, educational tourism, active adult travel, among others.
Top tourism news and developments will be shared throughout the travel mart, all spearheaded by the Costa Rica, which saw an impressive 7.1% increase in visitor arrivals this past January and February compared to the same period in 2013.
