Create Your Own Adventure In Europe
Toronto area travel agents had a chance to get the latest on Busabout’s 2017 Europe program from the company’s top executives during an event at Boxcar Social in the city’s trendy Riverside neighbourhood last night (Jan. 18, 2017).
Busabout, a Travel Corporation brand, has been making some serious noise in Canada over the past 12 to 18 months as they’ve taken a more hands-on approach to the agency market here.
As the Hop On Hop Off’s(HOHO, for short) Damien Bennett explained, Busabout has always had representation in Canada, but it was more someone would come into the market a couple of times a year and then head back to head office.
Now he reports that with himself and Adam Bobawsky on the ground in Canada, both interest and sales of Busabout’s unique product have taken off.
He told his agency audience that Hop On Hop Off sales have increased by 90% and a lot of those sales are coming through the travel agency channel.
In fact, Bennett noted that Busabout’s educational and sales efforts are clearly paying off as agency trip requests have gone through the roof.
Busabout’s European network includes 46 cities in 15 European destinations allowing travellers to simply hop on and hop off anywhere along that network – giving them both choice and flexibility when planning their vacation.
New in 2017 is the launch of a 6-month, unlimited pass, which Bennett says is selling exceptionally well; the addition of Portugal to the program; a brand new fleet of coaches will be in operation on the network in 2017; and lots more.
