Cuba Celebrates As ACV Expands Gateways

After the successful start of flights from Montreal to Cayo Coco, Cuba, Air Canada Vacations has expanded its gateways to the island with the addition of Toronto service, which began. Sept. 26.

“We cannot be happier,” said Lessner Gomez, director of the Cuba Tourist Board in Toronto, adding: “It shows that Canadians see the advantage of Cuba as a safe destination. Canadians go to Cuba, they love it and they keep going back year after year, this loyal repeat clientele is our greatest strength.”

Despite the current environment, Cuba has been able to open tourism in a safe way and the tourist board says it’s great to see client feedback, such as that from  Patricia Maheux, who just came back and shared in Facebook: “It is so beautiful, I love Cayo Coco, I recommend it.”

All major Canadian tour operators have Cuba in their fall and winter programs, with departures to Varadero and other Cuban destinations ready to go starting in November.

“It’s evident that Cuba is delivering when it comes to safety, value and convenience,” said Gomez.
