Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has created a new team dedicated to further driving and developing its company-wide culture of innovation. Called Corp-i, the innovation team will be headed up by Vincent Lebunetel, vice president, Corporate Innovation.

The team will manage CWT’s innovation portfolio, including a dedicated innovation fund which will be used to steer future partnerships, projects and ideas. They will drive three core streams:

  • Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem including internal and external entrepreneurs, and industry institutions.
  • Developing prototypes, processes and new applications.
  • Exploring and testing new concepts.

David Moran, executive vice president, Global Marketing & Enterprise Strategy, observed: “Innovation is part of our culture at CWT. To ensure we maintain our position as an industry leader, we believe it is important to take ownership and have a dedicated team purely focused on potential opportunities and developments. There is substantial, untapped potential for new technologies, services and projects out there, and this team will find, test and trial them, continuing to bring the very best offers to our clients.”

For his part, Lebunetel said: “I’m delighted to be leading the CWT Corp-i team and working with every business department and function across the CWT global network, as well as the huge number of potential external partners in our ecosystem. We look forward to generating and fostering new ideas, and inventing for the future together.”

CWT has a longstanding history of innovation, such as its award-winning app CWT To Go and groundbreaking industry studies including the CWT Travel Stress Index, which has won industry awards and was published in the world-renowned Harvard Business Review this summer.

As part of the launch, a dedicated web gateway has been created – http://www.cwtinnovation.com – giving guidance on how businesses can work with CWT in this area.
