Cycling tours prove popular at Adventure Center

Adventure Center is reminding agents that it has a brochure dedicated to cycling holidays. “We’re really pleased with the reaction so far to these 100 tours,”says the company’s Pat Rochon, who himself has enjoyed nine cycling holidays overseas. “And what’s interesting is that it’s not just the more leisurely ones – we’re impressed with the interest we’re seeing in our more hardcore itineraries.”Those include two special “one off”departures which last year sold out very early. The first is the eight-day Tour de France Special (tour code MWW) in which clients get to watch a portion of the Tour de France live from the roadside and ride some of the same famous climbs as the professional riders. Priced at $1,930 (plus air), the tour operates from July 13-20. Adventure Center is also seeing growing interest in the Etape du Tour Cyclosportive (tour code MSE), in which participants ride the 130 km stage 20 of the 2013 Tour de France alongside 9,000 other sportive riders from around the world. The Etape tour is priced at $1,930 (plus air) and will run July 4-9. “2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France and we know this significant date is going to make the tours even more popular,”says Rochon.
