DAYS INNS HELPS OUT

Days Inns – Canada reports its 2013 fundraising campaign for Childhood Cancer Canada (CCC) raised $39,725, which will go directly to CCC’s Survivor Scholarship Program. “Thanks to our hotel owners, staff and guests, we are able to help fund 26 scholarships that will give young Canadian cancer survivors the opportunity to pursue their academic goals,” said Irwin Prince, president & COO, Realstar Hospitality. Hotels from across Canada participated in a one-week fundraising blitz, donating $1 from each guest room sold from July 8-14.

Days Inns – Canada also donated $1 for every direct booking made during that week through daysinn.ca or 1-800-DAYS-INN. Many hotels raised additional funds throughout July by selling teddy bears to guests and staff along with other on-site fundraising. The Survivor Scholarship Program is a one-time award of $1,500 for a childhood cancer survivor in any year of post-secondary education. The program supports academic endeavors and recognizes the personal accomplishments of students who have survived childhood cancer, as well as the financial burden placed on families while children are being treated.
