Golfers in the Toronto area can get the low down on golfing in Mexico at the inaugural Mexican Golf Trade Show. The Oct. 18 event will be held at the Marriott Hotel at 90 Bloor St. E. from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is being supported by the Mexican Tourism Board and the state of Sinaloa. Entry is free and prizes will be given. The keynote speaker will be Ernesto Coppel Kelly, who own resorts in Mexico and a golf course in Los Cabos. Norwegian Cruise Line continues its “Partners First” initiative with a series of events that will bring the NCL sales team face-to-face with travel partners and individual agents in more than 100 cities across North America over the next two months. The seminar series will focus on travel partner training and engagement. Attending agents will learn about the advantages of doing business with Norwegian and the company’s key selling points as the youngest cruise fleet in North America, its global itineraries and newly built and refurbished ships. The Tourism Industry Association of BC (TIABC) has locked down the dates for the BC Tourism Industry Conference, set for Vancouver on Oct. 20-21. The 2015 conference will offer a variety of workshops, keynote speakers and tourism professionals from all regions of the province. Upwards of 400 delegates are expected to attend this year’s event, representing all sectors of the industry from city/community destination marketing organizations, to independent operators to provincial and municipal government leaders.
