Home Digital Extra post New carry-on rules now in effect

New carry-on regulations allowing airline passengers to carry small knives on flights are now in effect.

Still banned by Transport Canada, however, are bath salts and baby powder. Small knife blades of up to 6 cm are permitted, with the exception of flights to the US. Razor blades and box cutters of any size are still banned.

Transport Minister Marc Garneau says the new security measures will bring Canada in line with international standards and partner countries.
