Emerald Waterways, Europe’s newest deluxe river cruise company, is expanding its river cruises offerings for 2016 to include sailings along the Irrawaddy River in exotic Myanmar.

The 16-day journey, which has departures on Aug. 27 and Nov. 7, 2016, is roundtrip from Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city, visiting 11 ports along the way.

Travelling aboard the Irrawaddy Explorer, guests will visit parts of the country rarely seen by westerners and not accessible other than by river, and meet locals, sample exotic cuisine and experience the culture in the bustling city of Yangon as well as remote villages along the river delta.

“Mystical Myanmar and Irrawaddy River Cruise” joins “Highlights of Vietnam and Cambodia Mekong River Cruise” to become Emerald Waterway’s second Asia river cruise itinerary. Early planners enjoy the best fares and cabin selection, and, if booked by Oct. 31, free roundtrip air from major North American gateways.

Fares start at $8,025 p.p., double occupancy.
