Travel industry members are invited to take part, and/or be a sponsor, in this year’s Skal Toronto’s annual golf tournament, set for Aug. 10 at the Royal Woodbine Golf Club. More than 100 tourism, hospitality and travel industry executives and Skalleagues are expected to attend. Registration at Royal Woodbine begins at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and a shotgun start at noon (scramble, best ball format). A reception will be held at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Golf fees: including 18 holes of golf, golf cart, lunch and dinner (cash bar): Skål Toronto members $125; Other Skål members $150; Guest $190; Dinner only $65. Annual Conference

The Tourism Industry Association of BC (TIABC) has locked down the dates for the BC Tourism Industry Conference, set for Vancouver on Oct. 20-21. The 2015 conference will offer a variety of workshops, keynote speakers and tourism professionals from all regions of the province. Upwards of 400 delegates are expected to attend this year’s event, representing all sectors of the industry from city/community destination marketing organizations, to independent operators to provincial and municipal government leaders.

Travel Professionals International (TPI) has unveiled details of its plans for its upcoming 2015 TPI Annual Conference. Now entering its 21st year in business, TPI will be holding its annual event at the Meliá Marina Varadero in Cuba from Nov. 16-19.
