When it comes to travelling with Luxury Gold, it’s not just via motor coach, but on planes, trains and safari mobiles.
“I think we’re assumed as a brand that it is motor coaches, but it is more than that,” Carla Brake, VP of Sales, told PressToday ahead of a 2019 launch event held at The Omni King Edward Hotel yesterday (Sept. 13). “We like to say it’s a travel company so along with our luxury motor coaches, on certain destinations it’s about planes, it’s about trains, it’s about safari mobiles, it just depends on the destination, what the best mode of transportation really is to experience that destination.”
Take for example the new Remarkable Russia journey, which offers an extended option on board the Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express train through Mongolia to Vladivostok.
“If you’ve ever had the interest in seeing Mongolia by train, and some of the incredible temples and things that are there, it’s a great opportunity for those who experience life in all sorts of interesting ways,” adds Brad Ford, president of Luxury Gold. “As we say trains, planes and safari mobiles is what we’re all about. It’s absolutely on my bucket list.”
As for the trade, Brake says 90% of their business comes through the travel agency community, and the Canadian market is responding incredibly well to the product, noting business is already up 40% for 2019.
“100% of our sales team’s efforts are dedicated to supporting our travel advisor partners,” says Ford.
In addition to knowing that Luxury Gold is a separate brand from Insight Vacations, Brake hopes the trade understands its worldwide scope across 55 different journeys. Along with VIP experiences, she says the luxury escorted journey collection offers bespoke FIT options in Scotland, Ireland, South Africa and new this year, Greece.
According to Ford, what truly sets Luxury Gold apart from the competition is The Chairman’s Collection, through which travellers have rare opportunities to meet iconic local legends and have VIP access and experiences.
“The Chairman’s Collection is something that is extremely unique,” he says. “It can only be found through Luxury Gold, it can only be possible because you have someone like Stanley Tollman as your chairman. He’s been able to curate something for us that cannot be duplicated, and to me, that makes it very special. It’s something so exceptional you cannot duplicate it.”
