Discovering Monaco, From Crepes to Car Race

The world’s second smallest state is hoping to make some big noise in Canada.

Tourism representatives from Monaco called in Toronto Oct. 5 as part of the Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority’s first ever trade mission to Canada, which includes stops in Montreal and Vancouver.

Guy Antognelli, director deputy general of the MGTCA (pictured with colleague Valerie Tomatis-Noualhac) assured his audience that there is plenty to do for all visitors to the affluent the principality, which includes Monte Carlo.

Three hundred days of sunshine and the blue Mediterranean are a perfect backdrop for a plethora of museums/attractions and year-round roster of events, including the famed Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in May, he said. The neighbouring Nice gateway provides easy air access, while Milan and Paris are only three and five hours away by train. If that’s not enough, remember that Monaco is the birthplace of the crepe suzette, Antognelli pointed out, suggesting there’s no where better to get one.
