Doing good at Days Inn

All Days Inn locations across Canada are participating in a four-week fundraiser to raise money for Childhood Cancer Canada (CCC) during July. Each hotel will collect donations by selling purple paper ribbons for $2 to guests and staff as well as other fundraising initiatives. All funds will go towards Childhood Cancer Canada’s Survivor Scholarship Program. Irwin Prince, president and COO, Realstar Hospitality, said that: “Over the past six years, our hotels across Canada have helped raise more than $300,000 for Childhood Cancer Canada. This year we aim to raise $45,000 and help fund 30 scholarships to support childhood cancer survivors achieve their academic goals.” The Survivor Scholarship Program is a one-time award of $1,500 for a childhood cancer survivor in any year of post-secondary education. The program supports academic endeavours and recognizes the personal accomplishments of students who have survived childhood cancer. Founded in 1987, CCC is dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer through cancer research as well as improving the lives of children with cancer and their families by providing support and education.
