Doing Whatever It Takes

For the past couple of weeks, Direct Travel and Vision Travel team members have been visiting hospitals in Guelph, Georgetown, Milton and Oakville, Ont. to provide healthcare workers with personal hand sanitizers and a variety of comfort foods — as selected by the hospital staff — to show their gratitude for the work they are doing.

Ian Race, SVP corporate sales for Direct Travel, Canada West, said of the initiative: “We are all faced with a variety of challenges due to COVID-19 but it is important we all try to support our frontline healthcare workers. The travel industry has been devastated by this pandemic, but it doesn’t mean we stop thinking of others.”

Giving back isn’t something new for Direct Travel and Vision Travel. Over the years, they’ve supported Make-A-Wish Canada, the Canadian Red Cross and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation along with a variety of other charitable organizations.

Following their stops at the Guelph General, Milton District, Oakville Trafalgar Memorial and Georgetown Hospitals, the team is planning to visit additional hospitals across Canada.

Brian Robertson, president, Direct Travel, Canada West, observed: “I am continually impressed by the dedication shown by our team in servicing our essential services clients who continue to travel and additionally to giving back to the communities where we live and do business.”

Vision Travel, A Direct Travel Company, has retail storefronts in 40 communities across Canada and the outreach will continue over the coming months.

Summing it up, Race said that: “At Direct Travel our mission is ‘Whatever It Takes’ and right now that goes well beyond travel.”

Yes it does, Ian … yes it does … good for you … and thanks for your efforts …
