Dominican braces for Isaac

Tropical Storm Isaac, which forecasters were predicting could become a hurricane late yesterday, was expected to hit the shores of the Dominican Republic and Haiti by last night or early today. St. Croix and Puerto Rico are also on storm watch with schools and government offices ordered to remain closed yesterday. St. Kitts announced similar closures yesterday, and heavy rain drenched the French island of Guadeloupe. US forecasters say the storm will intensify over the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea and could move on towards Cuba and Florida later in the week.
