Florida Huddle, the Sunshine State’s premier, appointment-based, travel-trade show, is sold out and ready to open today at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center.
In its second year of being owned and operated by VISIT FLORIDA, Florida Huddle 2015 has set new records for participation across all sectors.
“The level of participation in Florida Huddle this year signals that the state is well positioned to build on our tremendous momentum and make 2015 another record year for Florida tourism,” said VISIT FLORIDA president and CEO Will Seccombe. “With over 15,000 meetings being held this week between our Florida partners and travel trade and media partners, we are well on our way to establishing Florida as the No. 1 travel destination in the world.”
He added, “I am especially pleased to see first-time participants from around the globe.”
Florida Huddle, by the numbers:
- 668 delegates, representing 395 companies; up from 614 delegates and 314 companies last year.
- 224 travel buyers, compared with 198 last year. These represent 147 companies, with the highest participation being from the United States and United Kingdom. There are seven taking part from Canada.
- 221 appointment-taking Florida suppliers from 210 companies; last year, 190 suppliers from 177 companies. These represent hotels, attractions, tour companies and destination marketing organizations from through Florida.
- 5,186 appointments scheduled; up from 12,804 last year.
