Scenic is rewarding travellers who plan ahead and book its 11- and 12-day Bordeaux sailings by Oct. 31 with free international air from dozens of major Canadian and US gateways.

The offer applies to all categories of accommodation with fares ranging from $6,030 to $10,160 per person, double.

The two itineraries are identical with the exception of an overnight Paris hotel stay on the 12-day version. Following a day of exploring Paris and an evening reception at the Paris Westin Hotel, guests depart the next morning on the high-speed Train à Grande Vitesse (TGV) for Bordeaux and their home aboard the Scenic Diamond.

Highlights of the next 10 days include Cadillac, originally established in the 13th century; Saint-Émilion, home to underground catacombs at its iconic Monolithic Church; Libourne, the wine-making capital of this part of France; Cognac, where guests have the opportunity to sample brandy at the famed Rémy Martin property; Médoc, where visitors traverse a scenic wine route; and Arcachon, known for its culinary delights.

The itinerary incorporates several special features unique to Scenic, including the company’s new “Scenic Sundowners” concept which has guests enjoying an afternoon at the estate of Château Soutard in picturesque Saint-Émilion while sipping a glass of wine from its Grand Cru vintage. The “Scenic Enrich” experience takes guests to a private dinner and classical concert in the Château Giscours in the Médoc countryside. Other excursions include numerous walking tours and wine tastings, a tour of Charlemagne’s Roquetaillade Castle with the family in residence, a visit to the Terres d’Oiseaux nature park with its 100 species of birds, a 19-mile cycling adventure along Captain’s Road near Bourg, and a shop with the chef opportunity in Bordeaux.
