One of Mexico’s top chefs, Xavier Perez Stone (l) returned to Toronto this week for an intimate industry dinner hosted by Mexico’s Grand Velas Resorts.
Chef Xavier – winner of an Iron Chef International competition last summer – is the executive chef at Grand Velas Riviera Maya’s Cocina de Autor restaurant, the first all-inclusive resort restaurant to receive the prestigious AAA Five Diamond award. Participants at Monday’s event were treated to an eight-course gastronomic journey with wine pairings.
The luxurious Velas Resorts has four properties in Mexico, two of which belong to The Leading Hotels of the World.

A similar Velas Resorts event is being held in Montreal tonight, followed by Quebec City. Western Canada events will be held in the New Year.
