Get A Taste Of Ventura, California

January is always a slow month in the travel business, so the Ventura Visitors and Convention Bureau has come up with what it hopes is a little extra incentive to visit in the first month of the new year.

For anyone who books a two-night, mid-week stay (Sunday to Wednesday) in a Ventura hotel during January, they’ll receive a free $50 dining gift certificate to use at one of Ventura’s charming, locally owned restaurants.

Cheryl Shallanberger, VVCB Vice President of Sales & Marketing, said: “We wanted to do something to help our Ventura hotels during what is typically a quieter time.”

Shallanberger points out that: “Ventura is filled with delicious restaurants. We thought it was the perfect pairing. It’s our way of saying thank you for coming, thank you for supporting local, and thank you for caring.”

The program is simple.

Anyone who makes a new reservation with a Ventura hotel beginning January 1 until the end of the month will email their reservation to the Ventura Visitors and Convention Bureau at [email protected].

The Ventura Visitors and Convention Bureau will call the hotel to verify the reservation. Everything verified, a Ventura midweek guest comes by the Visitor Center to pick up their $50 gift card to a Ventura restaurant.

Shallanberger explains that the Free Lunch program is another addition to programs already in place, all designed to boost January stays..

Said Shallanberger: “Ventura has always been a special community where everyone works together in good times and difficult times. In these difficult times, we’re just trying to do the next right thing to help everyone as we all move toward the bright.”
