Globus declares 2014 ‘Year of the Travel Agent’

Stéphanie Bishop, managing director for the Globus family of brands in Canada, is advising the travel trade that Globus has declared 2014 the “Year of the Travel Agent.”

Throughout the year, the company will be providing agents with enhanced training, marketing tools, incentives and other promotions as a way of saying “thank you.”

“Our retail partners are so important to our success,” says Bishop, “that we wanted to show our appreciation by taking our partnership to a whole new level.”

To kick off the year, the company has enhanced its travel agent locator on its four web sites (globusjourneys.ca, cosmosvacations.ca, avalonwaterways.ca and monogramstravel.ca) to now offer a broader selection of travel agencies by choosing a proximity of one to 25 miles. Plus, those agencies whose agents have taken the various brand’s specialist programs show up first. Also featured on each brand’s Agent Locater page is an e-brochure entitled “Why book with a travel agent?”– free to download.

“Our site just for Canadian agents, http://www.agentlingo.ca , has a host of tools for agents such as our Cosmos Solo Traveller Guide and the Globus Enjoyment Guide which are also wonderful and imaginative sales tools – and another way we show our dedication to working with agents across the country,” adds Bishop, who asks agents to watch for further enhancements throughout the year.
