Globus Launches 2018 Faith-Based Tours
The Globus family of brands in Canada has launch its 2018 Religious Travel brochure – featuring 14 tours in the new and old world, each designed to allow Christians to explore the roots and stories of their faith with fellow believers.
Offered by both Globus and Cosmos, the escorted tours are available in traditional destinations such as Italy, Israel and Jordan as well as more surprising countries such as Mexico and Poland.
Tours range from six to 20 days and several feature stops in Lourdes, which in 2018 will mark the 160th anniversary of the Apparitions there.
Many of the itineraries are geared to Roman Catholic travellers and include masses.
The company also has the most tour options to the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany taking place in 2020 – including one featuring an Avalon Waterways European river cruise.
Stéphanie Bishop, managing director of the Globus Family of brands in Canada, observed: “We take enormous effort to create a balance between faith and fun,” explaining that a tour may include, for example, the chance to reflect in the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi as well as the thrill of entering Venice by private boat.
Globus tours feature VIP access to must-see sites and behind-the-scenes local experiences. With Cosmos there is the always-popular guaranteed share program whereby the company will match solo travellers of the same sex in order to save them the single supplement, as well as the chance to Get Out and Give Back with a half-day of light volunteer work in its Israel and Jordan itineraries.
The tours are particularly popular with groups – such as church groups – and discounted rates are available for groups as small as eight in number.
And the company is also happy to provide its expertise in customizing a group tour for as few as 20 travellers.

Such tours include Argentina with a focus on Pope Francis, the shrines of French Canada, England’s Christian heritage and California Missions.
The company has an Early Booking Bonus program in place that lets agents book their clients on any 2018 Globus Europe (excluding Escapes by Globus and 2020 Oberammergau tours) or North America tour by Sept. 12, 2017 and save them 10%. With Cosmos, book between June 21 and July 11 this year and save them $50 per person.
