Insight Vacations CEO John Boulding recently completed a week’s family holiday in Greece and wants agents and clients to know just how amazing the destination is to visit – remaining one of the top destinations for Canadians with government figures showing that 180,000 visit each year.

“Any negatives you are hearing as far as tourism travel goes are completely misconceived. We had absolutely no issues at all. Everything worked from ATMs to paying bills by credit card, from transport to shops and restaurants, which were all busy by the way,” said Boulding. “The Greeks, as always, were extremely hospitable. The politics are just that, politics and they have no influence on the tourist experience. The main thing for our loyal travel agents to know is that the Greeks want your clients there and they really do need tourism, right now.”

Insight Vacations’ Signature Experiences in Greece include ascending Athens’ “Sacred Rock,” the Acropolis, to admire the Parthenon built in 5th century BC and joining a master chef to get to grips with the local flavours in a Greek cooking class in Olympia. Plus, no visit to Greece is complete without a cruise of the magnificent Isles.

Clients can currently save $300 per couple on Insight’s seven-day Glories of Greece itinerary to and from Athens departing on Oct. 12. Now priced from $1,825 per person twin share, the Greek odyssey includes luxury accommodation including a stay at Athens opulent The Divani Caravel (a member of The Leading Hotels of the World), sightseeing, meals, transfers, transport and the services of an experienced tour director.

Meanwhile, agents and media located in BC and Calgary can hear about Boulding’s experience firsthand when he visits Nov. 23-26. He will be in Victoria on Nov. 23, Langley on Nov. 24, Vancouver on Nov. 25, and Calgary on Nov. 26 as part of Insight Vacations upcoming Travel Showcase.
