Growing The Division

Goway Travel has appointed Shirley Rourke as its general manager, Downunder. Rourke will report to Goway’s general manager for wholesale, Anita Emilio. She has been with Goway for 15 years, holding various positions within the sales and management teams — most recently as the wholesale manager for the Downunder division .

Emilio said of the appointment: “Shirley has proven that she is the person to lead the team following an incredibly successful year. In December Shirley accepted the award on behalf of the Downunder team for Goway’s Division of the Year for 2013.”

In her new role, Rourke will be responsible for the sales, product and marketing of Goway’s established division, which offers Australia, New Zealand and island stopovers.

Rourke said that: “Having travelled extensively throughout all of Goway’s destinations, the South Pacific is my favourite. There are very few corners of the region I have not visited and loved. I look forward to continuing to grow the Downunder division and ensuring that Goway is the first choice for agents booking the South Pacific.”
