American Cruise Lines (ACL) has unveiled details of 2013 holiday cruises. The new Christmas and New Year’s Eve sailings will offer festive onboard and onshore activities that showcase the beautiful regions cruised along with celebrating the spirit of the holidays. A Southern Christmas is featured on ACL’s Historic South & Golden Isles Cruises departing Dec. 21 and includes such events as an Oyster Roast on the beach at Sapelo Island; a tour of the Ritz Carlton’s famous gingerbread houses on Amelia Island; a special Holiday tour at the Jekyll Island Club; the Charleston Festival of Lights; a southern holiday decor mansion tour in Charleston; plus lots of festive onboard activities. A Cajun Christmas is offered on Lower Mississippi River Cruises sailing Dec. 21 and includes such events as the Christmas Eve tradition of Bonfires on the Levee; Christmas Concert at the JN Stone House in Natchez; Christmas decor and lights tours at Oak Alley and Houmas House Plantations; along with lots of themed onboard activities.
