Hilton’s Curio Expands Alabama Presence
Following a multi-million dollar renovation, Redmont Hotel Birmingham – a historic hotel with a storied past dating back more than 90 years – has joined Curio – A Collection by Hilton as the brand’s second hotel in Alabama (following the recent opening of The Admiral Hotel Mobile).
The hotel features state-of-the-art technology and amenities, while retaining the style and glamour of the hotel’s 1920s roots, allowing guests to enjoy old world charm in the heart of downtown Birmingham.
First opened in 1925, the hotel offered distinguishing features for its time, including private baths, chilled running water and ceiling fans. Today, guests at Redmont Hotel Birmingham, Curio Collection by Hilton can enjoy the hotel’s beautifully maintained original details including vaulted ceilings, a custom 10-foot crystal chandelier and an expansive staircase featuring marble steps with the original iron handrail.
The hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places and features 120 renovated guest rooms designed for today’s modern traveller. This includes complimentary Wi-Fi, an ergonomic work space, a 40-inch HDTV and a Keurig coffeemaker. The Redmont also offers 11 suites and a lavish presidential suite.
Other hotel highlights include a 24-hour business centre and a 24-hour fitness centre.
