Tourism and hospitality students from colleges across southern Ontario gathered at the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) Student Conference yesterday, Nov. 9, at the Woodbine Conference Centre in Toronto.

Through a roster of diverse speakers, the annual conference provided students with the opportunity to meet key industry leaders, hear about market trends, and learn about career opportunities available within the travel industry such as corporate travel, sales, destination marketing and more.

Students also heard a presentation showcasing the 2017 Baxter Student Ambassador Program – now in its third year – which is aimed at mentoring youth and fostering fresh talent in the tourism industry.

After a full-day program, the students were eager to test their networking skills during an hour-long trade show in the Woodbine Conference Centre’s main lobby.
