HTA selects marketing partner for North America

After a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process, the Hawai’i Tourism Authority (HTA) has selected the Hawai’i Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) to continue its leisure tourism destination marketing management services for the North America market. The HTA contract requires that HVCB provide fixed-priced, pre-visit destination marketing representation services for the leisure market in North America, including Canada. Its job is to drive incremental visitation and revenues for the state of Hawai’i and exceed established visitor related targets on a yearly basis. The HVCB headquarters is located in Honolulu, with island chapter bureaus on O’ahu, Kaua’i, Maui and Hawai’i, the Big Island. HVCB will be responsible for managing and coordinating with its island chapter partners to fulfill the HTA contract requirements which include: development and facilitation of partnerships with Hawai’i’s visitor industry; integrated activities with travel trade (retail and wholesale) and consumers through multi-faceted, traditional and non-traditional means; and development, deployment and management of an integrated annual tourism marketing program that will increase visitor arrivals and expenditures for the Hawaiian Islands. The fixed-price contract will start on Jan. 1, 2013 and end on Dec. 31, 2014. The HTA has the option to extend the term for three one-year periods from Jan. 1, 2015 through Dec. 31, 2017.
