Independent by Flight Centre Celebrates Its Top Partners
The Independent by Flight Centre “Cross-Canada Meetup” was recently held at the River Rock Casino and Resort in Vancouver, a three-day event that culminated with the celebration of the best of the best in partner relations.
The 2nd annual Independent Partner Appreciation Awards recognized top partners across a number of categories as voted by Independent by Flight Centre agents for the 2018 calendar year.
“It is a priority for us that we recognize the value of our relationships with our top partners,” said Independent by Flight Centre general manager Lee Zanello. “Our agents love the opportunity to recognize our partners and our partners love the recognition. It’s a fantastic event that really brings everyone together.”
Top awards for the evening included Transat Holidays for Top ITC Provider, Royal Caribbean for Top Cruise and Avalon for Top River Cruise. Amanda Morris of Playa Hotels and Resorts took home the biggest award of the night for top BDM. Manulife was inducted into the Independent by Flight Centre Hall of Fame and Air Canada took home two awards for Top Domestic and Top International Airline.
The Independent Partner Appreciation Awards brought to a close the annual spring conference event that saw 60 agents from nearly every province and territory connect to learn, get inspired and network with each other and the 20+ supplier partners who were on hand throughout the weekend. Conference sessions focused on practical, take-home skills that agents could use to enhance the success and profitability of their own businesses. Session highlights included Marketing Your Business, Enhanced Social Media, and a hosted session with the CRA.
The group also got a chance to visit Flight Centre’s new head office space in downtown Vancouver.
“The Cross-Canada Meetup is one of the biggest events on our annual calendar,” Zanello says. “The timing is important as it gives us a chance to update our agents with all of the new systems and growth plans we have in store for the year.”
At the event, agents were introduced to a new social media management platform, educated on a new back-end finance system launching in May and updated on Independent by Flight Centre’s New To Industry program that introduces agents into the industry and lets them take advantage of Flight Centre’s strong retail footprint in Canada.
