Intrepid Travel expands family offering with new premium family range

According to a survey conducted by Wakefield Research and commissioned by Intrepid Travel, 83% of Canadian parents have taken vacations with their children to expose them to new cultures and places.

The wider findings from the new study point to a growing opportunity for travel experiences that combine cultural enrichment with ease as Intrepid Travel launches its Premium Family range with itineraries designed to offer even more inclusions and hands-on experiences for families.

Christian Wolters, President, Canada, Intrepid Travel, said: “Canadian parents see travel as more than a holiday, it’s a way to help children learn about the world.”

Intrepid’s new group family offerings include hands-on, educational experiences for families travelling together, from Arabic calligraphy classes with local artists in Morocco to cooking with local families in India.

At the same time, 83% of parents experience stressors when travelling with family, with their top concern being the fear of things going wrong, such as delays, cancellations or illness (41%), followed by safety worries (37%).

In Canada, 70% of adults say they would pay a premium for holidays where the planning, logistics and other stresses are handled for them – a demand Intrepid is responding to with the launch of its new Premium Family range.

Wolters observed: “We know family travel can come with real stress. Our trips have always been designed to take that weight off parents so they can relax and enjoy.”

And he continued: “With our new Premium Family range, we’re taking that comfort and convenience even further, offering even more inclusions, more seamless planning, and elevated experiences throughout the journey.”

Intrepid’s new Premium Family range includes eight new trips across Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, India, Borneo, Vietnam, Morocco, Thailand and Egypt. Designed for small groups of three to five like-minded families and led by Intrepid’s most experienced local guides, the range combines elevated accommodation and extensive inclusions with immersive, kid-friendly travel experiences.

The new range brings together Intrepid’s most comfortable travel style – Premium – and its established Family range, which already spans more than 50 itineraries worldwide and recorded 19% year-on-year growth in 2025.

Highlights of the new itineraries include a night in a Sahara desert camp on the 10-day Morocco Premium Family Holiday, where families will enjoy a traditional dinner, watch live Gnaoua music and stargaze under an uninterrupted sky. On the 9-day Borneo Premium Family Holiday, families stay in an overwater villa, where they can kayak, snorkel and stand-up paddleboard, and take part in a coral planting workshop to learn about the region’s delicate marine ecosystem. While the 8-day India Golden Triangle Premium Family Holiday offers the chance to see an impressive diversity of birdlife on a rickshaw ride through Keoladeo National Park and spot wildlife at Jhalana Leopard Safari Park on an open-roof 4WD safari.

Erica Kritikides, General Manager of Experiences at Intrepid Travel said:

“The new Premium Family range combines the comfort and convenience of our Premium offering with the immersive, child-friendly format of our Family trips. Led by our most experienced local leaders and featuring extensive inclusions, they give families the chance to explore the world together without the stress of planning and logistics, leaving lasting memories that will be talked about for years to come.”

And Kritikides adds: “Holiday time is precious, and at a time when the world can feel increasingly overwhelming and divided, these journeys create space to discover new destinations and reconnect through shared, meaningful experiences.”
