IPW Looks Forward to 50th Anniversary In Denver

The IPW 2017 travel trade marketplace ended on May 31 by stoking anticipation for next year’s IPW in Denver.

The 2018 edition of IPW will be the 50th anniversary for the giant marketplace that drives international tourism to the United States.
Denver tourism officials revealed plans to showcase the Mile High City’s culinary, music, craft beer, arts and cultural attractions at next year’s IPW. A handful of artful, spirited videos made the best use of Colorado’s ample visual assets, spotlighting Denver’s Rocky Mountain setting and the frontier lifestyle that it has spawned.

Officials on hand included the mayor of Denver, Michael Hancock, plus Jayne Buck, the VP of tourism for Visit Denver, and Jesse Davis, the director of public relations for Visit Denver.

They promised a memorable IPW, including a concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which has achieved global recognition as the setting for many performances – most notably a landmark U2 show in 1983. The IPW in Denver will take place May 19-23, 2018.

“IPW is the most significant annual international marketplace in the US, so it is a great honour for Denver to host this important travel industry event,” said Richard Scharf, president of Visit Denver in a statement. “This is a wonderful opportunity to promote our city on a global stage and enhance our international tourism efforts.”
