It’s All About You

TravelBrands continued its agent appreciation events in Toronto last night (Tuesday) with a gala affair that saw close to 700 travel counsellors on hand for a combination trade show and corporate presentation that served as a coming out party for the new-look tour company.

“It’s been a tough year for TravelBrands as we all know,” co-owner Frank DeMarinis told suppliers, alluding to company’s restructuring under CCAA protection, and added, “We want to thank you for sticking with us.”

Dozens of suppliers, from WestJet to Bahia Principe, and some from out of country, like the UK’s Premium Tours, manned trade show booths and connected with agents.

But it was company president Zeina Gedeon who declared the evening’s real theme: “Tonight is about you!” she told agents.

Similarly, she pointed to milestone anniversaries for many of the TravelBrands brands — 60 for Holiday House, 45 for Sunquest, 30 for Intair and 25 for Encore Cruises, declaring, “Without you, they wouldn’t be here today.”

Following similar events in Vancouver and Calgary, TravelBrands moves on to Montreal tonight (Wedneday) and Halifax.
