It’s Anchors Aweigh For Cruise CEO

Cruise CEO set sail this week, positioning itself as a cruise-centric host agency that is the only Virtuoso cruise-focused host agency in North America.

The new business and brand features a leadership team – with close to 90 years of experience — that includes Morris Chia, Zeina Gedeon and Caroline Hay.

Hay, who has been named Cruise CEO’s president, is quick to point out that Cruise CEO, while affiliated with TPI is not its cruise arm, rather Cruise CEO is a standalone business and brand that is “truly a game changer.”

She explained that: “Focused selling and specialization aren’t a suggestion these days, it’s become a must, and that’s what Cruise CEO is all about. I am excited to be leading this progressive, innovative company.”

Cruise CEO’s president observed that over the past 14 months, the industry has recognized that “you need to seize the opportunities when you can” and as the industry sits at the crossroads, now is the perfect – even an unexpected — time to do just that.

Even before the global pandemic, Hay said that there was a lot of discussion within the industry – particularly on the retail side – about choosing a niche and the past year and a half has seen advisors taking a long, hard look at what they want their business to look like going forward.

And that’s the goal of Cruise CEO as it will position itself as the authority of independent contractors specializing in selling cruises … and allow them to take control of their businesses in the way that they want.

Hay explained that: “When we created Cruise CEO, we did so in recognition that there are many cruise selling agents today that are tied to one-sided, long-term contracts that don’t allow them to run their own brand or have any say in what they sell, and to top it all off, they are earning low commission splits on their bookings.”

So, to change things up, Cruise CEO will be offering:

  • Up to 100% commission splits on key partners
  • Flexible contract terms
  • Non-exclusive contracts
  • Ability to build a team or fly solo
  • Run with your brand or ours
  • Use your CRM or ours
  • Gain full access to Virtuoso

Said Hay: “At Cruise CEO we believe that professional travel entrepreneurs selling cruise, should be paid equitably for their hard work and have the choice of how they run their business.”

And timing is everything.

Cruise CEO’s president points out: “The cruise industry is getting back on track. Reported bookings are stronger each day. We know that many travel advisors are interested in aligning with a business partner that shares their passion for cruise, believes in developing a community of like-minded individuals, and provides the needed security for their future in the industry, all of which are represented throughout the Cruise CEO network.”
