Jamaica welcomes new tourism minister

Dr. Wykeham McNeil has been appointed minister of tourism and entertainment in Jamaica. According to Evelyn Smith, president of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA), McNeil is well known in the tourism industry and brings to his new post “a thorough knowledge of tourism and a track record of mutual respect with all players in our industry.”McNeil was a former junior tourism minister in the previous People’s National Party (PNP) administration and succeeds Edmund Bartlett who served as the minister of tourism during the last Jamaica Labour Party administration.
