UPDATED: Let’s Press For Progress

March 8, 2018 is a day of celebration.

It’s International Women’s Day — held annually to celebrate the achievements of women throughout history.

Here at Baxter Media, there is more to celebrate as Nellie McClung — Canadian feminist, author, politician and social activist — is the grandmother of our president, David McClung.

And as everyone knows, our Editor-In-Chief, Edith Baxter has been a powerful voice for Canada’s travel industry for over five decades.

International Women’s Day is also known as the United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace and the 2018 celebrations are taking on a new and positive meaning as the #MeToo and #Time’sUp continue to reverberate around the world, raising awareness of sexual harassment and workplace equality issues.

IWD is a global celebration that recognizes the achievements of women without regard to divisions – whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

Today, the push for progress continues and if you want to find out more, check out #PressforProgress at https://www.internationalwomensday.com/.

From us here at Baxter Media – Margaret, Dragana, Sanja, Carol, Wendy, Ashley, Dee, Lynne, Clare, Emily and Ann – we want to leave you with this thought …

… “Never retreat, never explain, never apologize – get the thing done and let them howl.” (Nellie McClung) …

… And a song that says it all … Rise Up! Rise Up!
